in Hillmorton.
From humble beginnings:
Potatoes were first eaten by ancestors of the Incas over 6000 years ago. But it was more than
5000 years before they crossed the Atlantic, and a further 200 years before they became firmly
established in Europe. Potatoes became fashionable in the eighteenth century when
Marie Antoinette paraded through the French countryside wearing potato blossoms in her hair.
It was around that time that the French served the first 'pomme frites' - fried potatoes that we have
come to call chips.
Using the best Maris Piper potatoes from Mitchells Potatoes we offer the very
best in what has become a Great British tradition, 'Fish n Chips'.
